Hey!! I know that Halloween is scheduled to end within just a few minutes, but I have also added a new seasonal Kigo story to my Deviations along with that scary (non-Kigo) tale from a few days ago. One might almost say... BOO-yah! Ok, maybe you wouldn't. Nevertheless, enjoy!

I began writing Kim Possible fan fiction back in 2005 after having discovered the 'Kigo' genre entirely by accident; I'd never even watched the TV show when I first learned of sites like the KP Slash Haven and Deviant Art. I've seen many amazing pieces of artwork and read some wonderful stories... likewise, there are certainly enough dismal examples of both art and fiction, but I've seen and read those, too. The pairing of Kim Possible with her nemesis Shego appeals to me and my primary inspiration was the story 'A Small Possibility' by the author NoDrogs, so obviously I like the idea of them having children together.

If you knew me, you might think me the least likely person to want to write 'slash' fiction about two cartoon characters; I'm a heterosexual white male, conservative in nature and pretty much a misanthrope to the core. Nevertheless, here I am and here I will remain. I usually have two to three projects in the works at any one time and I am a very slow writer. This is unfair to anyone who likes my stories, because updates are infrequent and can be months apart. I am receptive to feedback and love reviews, good or bad, because there's always something to be learned and I feel that my technique and skills have steadily improved.

While I am decidely NOT qualified to make a professional assessment of your mental state, you are not hallucinating... I have finally posted a new chapter of my epic tale 'The Stubborn Beast Flesh'. It is Chapter 12 to be specific and it has taken me sixteen months to post a continuation since Chapter 11. Please, enjoy!

Thanx to all for your good thoughts as I hit this milestone... much like one would hit a brick wall!

It doesn't seem right, somehow. It's not that getting older bothers me; shit, I was born old and while I don't believe in reincarnation I am sure that I've been around for a long time. It's that so much has happened since I've been here. Family members born and died... achievements and failures in unequal measure... not to mention regrets.

Also hope. I live because I have hope. Don't think that your ol' pal the Humbug is feeling down, kids, he really isn't. He... I mean I am having a good time with friends and family and coworkers both this past week and this coming week and it is ALL good. Better to get older than the alternative. Hey, and this way I outlive my enemies!

Raise a glass in friendship this week since I cannot invite you all over for pie.
(The Humbug never was a cake fan.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

In the spirit of goodwill and for the holiday season, please accept my heartfelt wishes of Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Ramadan, Festive Kwanzaa and a Peaceful Winter Solstice to everyone.

Now, five things for which I'm thankful. You don't have to agree; these are mine:
1) An employer who had the foresight to keep expenditures down during these tough economic times, thereby saving jobs.
2) A strong national defense.
3) Having been able to affort a reasonable amount of nice gifts for my family.
4) Moderately decent weather.
5) Being able to pay my bills.

Also, here are some personal prayers for 2009:
1) That our President Elect proves me wrong and succeeds in bringing measurable improvement to my country's troubles.
2) That a cure for some major disease is discovered.
3) That the quality of television will improve and idiotic reality shows will become extinct.
4) World peace. Please don't laugh.
5) That I will improve as a writer. You can laugh now.
